David Ross
Pastor of Geriatric Care & Prison Reform
Elder Ross enlist into the United States Army after graduation, where he served honorably for three years. The United States military offered unique opportunities, one in which prepared Elder Ross for a career in law enforcement. Elder David Ross first established his Christian journey at an early age under the Pentecostal movement of his grandparents, Bishop William & the late Pastor Minnie Lee Mason. After experiencing life and various spiritual encounters, Elder Ross renewed his relationship with Christ and became an active member of the Park Avenue Christian Church Disciples of Christ. He was called out and ordained as a deacon. Early in the diaconate ministry, Elder Ross received a second call wherein he was elected to serve as armor-bearer to the late Rev. Dr. Raiford S. Wheeler. Elder Ross quickly learned the duties of an armor-bearer and served on the side of his leader in several capacities. Elder Ross displays a sense of joy and victory which is an integral part of his lifestyle. He is a dedicated server with the ability to carry people physically, mentally and spiritually. After the arduous illness and transition of Rev. Dr. Raiford S. Wheeler, Elder Ross servant-hood continued at New Life Body of Christ Church in 2009. As an ordained Deacon, he continues serving the people of God. Later, elected as a personal assistant and armor-bearer to Bishop Ronald Jones, he served and performed with diligently and enthusiastically and eventually ordained as a Minister on November 12, 2012.
Elder Ross begin his ministerial duties as a Sunday school and New Members teacher. His service is overwhelmingly compelling, wherein God entrusted an outreach project under his leadership. Elder Ross is currently the Outreach Pastor at the Alaris Health at Cedar Grove and Overseer of the Prison Reform Ministry in which young men seek after the wisdom and relatability, and guidance that Elder Ross exemplify. Elder Ross is a man who fell in love with wisdom and made a commitment to advance the lives of others, teaching maturation and spiritual development; helping people find their true identity in Christ. In his personal quest for knowledge & quench of thirst for spiritual knowledge, Elder Ross is currently studying at Pillar College, Newark, NJ. Inspired by the love of God’s word, he shares the word with boldness, winning the hearts of people in distress and encouraging those that are living a life of stagnation.
Elder Ross is a native of East Orange, NJ, blessed with wonderful parents, Willie J. Ross Sr. and Curlie Mae Ross, and the middle-child of three children. Elder David Ross is the husband of an amazing wife, Lady Hazel Ross and the proud father of 6 children: Davida, Angelo, Darryl, Chatia, Darnel, and Na-eem who blessed him with beautiful grandchildren.
